How to Reduce Labor Pain

Here are some great suggestions from our TBS community on reducing labour pains:

  • Hypnobabies
  • floating in the birthing tub during contractions
  • breathing techniques such as those from yoga
  • rocking on a birthing ball
  • keep my jaw relaxed and close my eyes to not waste energy I didn't need to
  • TENS technique
  • birthing tub
  • counter pressure
  • being vocal
  • having a supportive partner in the room
  • squeezing something through contractions
  • yoga
  • Birthing from Within
  • hot water bottle
  • standing and moving through contractions
  • hot baths
  • ACCEPT that it's normal and not to be feared
  • moaning
  • turn into yourself and visualize
  • Education - prepare yourself with birthing classes
  • Bradley Method
